According to IIHS, the Ioniq 5 made advancements in rear occupant safety, specifically the stringent requirements of the new Offset Deformable Barrier (ODB 2.0) crashworthiness evaluation, which now includes rear occupant protection. The Ioniq 5’s enhanced safety features and robust build quality advanced it to the highest safety rating available.
Additionally, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe and 2024 Hyundai Sonata have both been awarded the Top Safety Pick designation.
