Frank Lloyd Wright’s Bachman-Wilson House

Frank Lloyd Wright built many homes throughout the country, and the Bachman-Wilson House is an Arkansan favorite. The home was originally built in New Jersey in 1956, and after falling into a state of disrepair, it was purchased by the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, disassembled, moved, and reassembled at the museum in Bentonville, Arkansas. Visitors can tour the home as well as the museum’s other extensive exhibits.

The Peel Mansion Museum

Colonel Samuel West Peel, an Arkansan congressman, built the Italian-inspired Peel Mansion just outside of Bentonville, Arkansas, in 1875. After many years in the family, the building passed on to become a historic site, museum, and event center for all Arkansans to enjoy. In addition to tours of the home and grounds, visitors can host events in and outside of the mansion.

Museum of Native American History

The Museum of Native American History, or MONAH, provides visitors with an extensive collection of Native American artifacts arranged by date, starting from the Paleo Period around 12,000 BC to the Historic Period, dating into the 1900s. Guided tours are available, as are group visits and events. Kids can even hunt for replica arrowheads on the museum grounds and keep any they find as souvenirs at no charge.

Veterans Wall of Honor

The Veterans Wall of Honor, located in Bella Vista, was designed by the Veterans Council of Southwest Arkansas to honor veterans across all branches of the military. The extensive monument features historical flags, the names of thousands of veterans, a series of military plaques, and a 36-foot military timeline. The monument is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day for visitors.

Old Spanish Treasure Cave

A short drive from Bentonville, the Old Spanish Treasure Cave features a variety of stunning natural elements, like stalactites and stalagmites, and fantastical stories of treasures lost long ago by Spanish conquistadors. In addition to exploring the underground cave structure, visitors can enjoy gemstone panning and touring the 150-year-old log cabin gift shop. The Old Spanish Treasure Cave also hosts a variety of events for kids, like a cavern camping experience and movie nights inside the cave.
