This expansive nature reserve is part of the National Register of Historic Places and welcomes thousands of visitors from all over Arkansas each year. 3. Trout Fishing at Roaring River State Park Offering excellent fishing opportunities on the banks of the Roaring River, this state park is a wonderful destination that can be reached in about 45 minutes by car from Fayetteville, driving 35 miles northeast along route AR-72 and State Highway 112. Encompassing an area of about 4,300 acres, Roaring River State Park is managed by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and is also a wonderful destination for hiking and wildlife watching.
