When deciding which new vehicle to buy, the car warranty is an important consideration. This protects you from expensive maintenance bills and allows you to drive your car without worrying about it breaking down. Read on to find out more about the warranty you can expect to get when you buy a new car from the Hyundai dealer.

What’s Covered in the 2022 Hyundai New Car Warranty?

The Hyundai manufacturers offer one of the most generous warranties available. New cars bought at the dealership are covered for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The limited powertrain warranty, which covers parts related to your car’s engine, is even more long-lasting. It is good for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Hybrid and electric batteries are also covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Additionally, there is a 7-year warranty that covers perforation damage. This isn’t limited by mileage. What’s more, Hyundai drivers can benefit from five-year roadside assistance. If you get stuck on the road, you can call the emergency number, and the responders can help you to unlock your car, jump-start the car, deliver fuel, or tow your vehicle to the nearest service station.

What Are the Exceptions?

While most of your car parts are covered by the warranty, there are some exceptions. Parts that are prone to wear and tear, such as your filters, and accessories like cup holders aren’t included. However, there is a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on most spare parts and accessories. If you’re not sure whether you’re covered, ask your dealer.

It’s also important to note that you’ll only benefit from your warranty if your car is damaged due to an issue outside your control, such as a manufacturing error. If you damage your car during a collision or there is a problem because you haven’t maintained it well, you might not be covered. For this reason, it’s important to attend your annual service appointment at the dealership.

Can I Get an Extended Warranty at the Hyundai Dealer?

Although the Hyundai warranty is very generous, most people keep their car for longer than five years or 60,000 miles. To prevent high maintenance costs, you can take out an extended warranty at the dealership. This can even out the cost of service and repairs and allow you to drive the same car for longer.
